Leschi Waterfront Apartment

This project involved transforming a 1-bedroom waterfront apartment in Leschi into a personalized, meaningful space that reflected the client’s major life transitions, including meeting the love of their life. As a temporary dwelling for the next 6-12 months, the goal was to create a cozy and intimate environment that celebrated their relationship, while also ensuring functionality in their busy lifestyle.

The Project

The Leschi Waterfront Apartment project required a holistic design approach, with an emphasis on balancing functionality with personal, emotional connections to the space. The client sought a home layout that not only made the most of the apartment’s stunning water views but also incorporated meaningful elements that reflected the couple’s love story, such as touches of Paris, where they fell in love, and natural elements to bring the outdoors in.

The scope of work included designing the home layout, space planning, and creating a serene environment with earthy tones, muted blues, and greys. Amy took charge of third-party coordination and scheduling, including managing furniture deliveries and the installation of large-scale art pieces, ensuring every element was in place for a seamless setup. The project also required thorough product research, identifying, and shopping for furnishings that fit within the couple’s aesthetic and lifestyle.

Sourcing was a key aspect of the project, blending second-use resources and new items to stay true to the client’s preferences. Amy utilized stores like Consign Design, Crate and Barrel, Pier 1 Imports, Ballard Designs, and local artisans, to combine both new and repurposed elements into the design.

The Results

The final design resulted in a beautifully balanced space that perfectly reflected the couple’s feelings for one another and the natural beauty of their surroundings. By skillfully blending earthy tones and muted blues with meaningful art and natural elements, the apartment became a celebration of their relationship and a comforting retreat from their busy lives.

Amy’s meticulous organization and attention to detail ensured that every part of the project was completed seamlessly—from coordinating with third-party vendors to product selection. The apartment layout maximized the water views while creating an inviting and functional space for the couple to enjoy their time together. The mix of second-use and new items added character and sustainability, bringing together a cohesive, thoughtfully designed home.
